Magical Creatures

A few years ago I wrote and illustrated a book about magical creatures, and I think that book said a lot about what interests and inspires me. Anyway, as I'm new to this blogging malarkey, and apparently a picture paints a thousand words, I thought I'd let a few of those creatures make my introductions to the Interweb...


Gwrach y Rhibyn
She often takes up residence in ruined castles and can be found 
at a ford or crossroads announcing news of an imminent death.
She means well.




Bwca
The Bwca is a solitary type of house elf, and is thought to be a relative of the Pwca. 

Bwgan
The Bwgan, also known as Bwci Bo and Bwci Bal, is a fearsome 
hobgoblin whose sole purpose seems to be to frighten humans. 


Coblynnod
Coblynnod (singular is Coblyn) are gnome-like creatures 
that are usually found in mines, quarries and caves.


Cyhyraeth  
The Cyhyraeth, noted for her unearthly and horrific night-time cry, is 
more often heard than seen, usually at a crossroads or stream. 


Ellyllon
The Ellyllon is the name for the elves that are found throughout Wales.


Giant
Speaks for itself really.


Afanc
A solitary and terrible creature that lives in Welsh lakes and rivers. 


Bodach Glas  
The Bodach Glas is a mischievous and sometimes spiteful dwarf. 


Gwyll
To be found beside lonely mountain trails at night or in fog with 
the sole aim of leading unwary travellers from their path. 


Moranedig  
The Moranedig, or Merfolk, are sea creatures with magical abilities.


Wyvern
A two legged dragon, thought to be venomous.


Bwbach
A mischievous house sprite. very fond of fresh cream.
